Although this story takes place in Alaska, it is not a story about Alaska’s stellar beauty. It is the story of an everyday Alaskan couple. Folks who had the desire and the courage to remain in a country I considered America’s Siberia. My story is written from a woman’s point of view. Someone married to a frontierholic who otherwise would have had no interest in settling in Alaska. A continental America woman who gave up family and support groups to build a new life. For some, myself included, that meant constructing the very home she would inhabit. In our case it was the two story log dwelling pictured here.
The family. Larry, Shirley, Christopher, Heike, Tracey and Tricia. We managed to overpopulate the house before we moved upstairs.
